The Max Blade requires a lathe with a minimum of 2 HP. Before purchasing, please check that your lathe meets this power requirement.
If your lathe is below 2 HP, the Small and Large Bowlsaver Max4 blades
are the appropriate options.
The Woodcut Tools Max Blade
is the largest blade available for the Bowlsaver Max4 Coring System. Designed for turners wanting to extend the capability of their Max4 into larger bowl blanks, it can be added to an existing Max4 system alongside the Small and Large blades.
Featuring Woodcut's latest tapered cutter profile with negative rake, the Max Blade is designed to provide smoother entry into the cut, improved control, and an excellent surface finish.

Compatibility
The Max Blade is designed exclusively for the Woodcut Bowlsaver Max4.
It is an additional blade for an existing Max4 system and requires the Bowlsaver Max4 body and components for use.
Not compatible with the Bowlsaver Original or Bowlsaver Max3.

Bowl coring places significant demands on a cutter, particularly when working with larger blanks where knots, bark inclusions, and other defects may be encountered.

after researching cutter materials proven in demanding sawmill applications. Its combination of impact resistance, excellent wear characteristics, and ability to maintain a cutting edge makes it particularly well suited to bowl coring.
The Stellite cutter is permanently welded to the blade and can be hollow ground when sharpening is required. Replacement Stellite tips are available and can be fitted by your local saw doctor should re-tipping ever be necessary.
