The Woodcut Tools Pro-Mount Detailing Stand
was developed to securely hold chuck-mounted work
for carving, texturing, embellishment, pyrography, airbrushing, and decorative finishing.
Far more than a conventional carving stand, the Pro-Mount allows a freshly turned project to remain mounted in its woodturning chuck while being transferred directly from the lathe to the Pro-Mount. Once your embellishment is complete, simply return the chuck to the lathe to continue turning, maintaining perfect registration throughout the entire process.
Designed by Peter Hewitt in collaboration with New Zealand woodturner Terry Scott, the Pro-Mount is precision machined from 1045 high tensile steel
and engineered to provide exceptional rigidity, smooth movement, and positive locking in any position.
Dual Locking System
Unlike many carving stands that rely on a single locking mechanism, the Pro-Mount features two independent locking levers.
The outer lever
controls 360° horizontal rotation, while the inner lever
controls 360° vertical rotation. Because each axis is locked independently, your project remains securely supported while adjustments are made, reducing the risk of accidental movement or damage.
Once both levers are tightened, the Pro-Mount provides a rigid platform for carving, texturing, decorating, or other detailed work.
