Bowlsaver Original Coring System

If you are hollowing out a large bowl, it is such a shame that all of the material being removed ends up on the workshop floor as shavings. The Woodcut Bowlsaver Bowl Coring products simple design is easy to use for workers of all abilities.

The Bowlsaver is attached to the lathe via the lathe tool post and is also supported by a Morse taper that fits into the tailstock of the lathe. The Bowlsaver includes two blades with long lasting Stellite cutters which will withstand shocks caused by knots and nails producing great results with either seasoned or unseasoned timber. If turned unseasoned, the resulting bowl blanks can be put aside for seasoning and finishing at a later date. We recommend a minimum power requirement of 1hp for using this product.
The unique design offers easy adjustment in order to core a range of bowl shapes and sizes. The two blades give a combination of cuts that will remove blanks from 3" up to 12" from the inside of the outer bowl. The depth that the blades will go into the wood can be adjusted from zero up to 5". This, in essence, will remove a bowl 12" x 5" from the outer bowl.

The Woodcut Tools Bowlsaver includes everything you need, including a detailed guide and ready to use, planning templates, to successfully core a nest of bowls straight away. All packed in a foam lined box, providing convenient storage when not in use. A Bowlsaver Light guide is also available as an additional purchase.

STELLITE CUTTER - Given the wide range of cutter options available, including Carbide, Woodcut Tools researched what cutters worked well in sawmill operations. Woodcut Tools established that Stellite was commonly used for saw tipped bandsaws. Proven on hard and soft woods also delivering an excellent wood finish and experience a long operational life with great wear resistance. Each Bowlsaver knife comes with its own Stellite cutter, which can be replaced if ever needed.
